Synopsis

Mountains, sea views and tradition, what’s not to love?

When Kat and Gary arrive in the small Cretan village of Spilia, they expect a relaxing holiday of sunshine, beaches and leisurely frappés.

Instead, they find themselves swept into village life, where meals stretch late into the evening, neighbours appear unannounced and everyone knows everyone else’s business.

As Kat settles into the village’s gentle siga-siga pace, long-forgotten memories begin to resurface.

Dimi Ingle-Deliyiannis is a South African-born, Greek-raised writer, journalist and publisher with more than two decades of experience in online media and publishing.

Dimi is an avid traveler and dedicated travel journal keeper. The notes, photographs, doodles and scribbles she has collected in her journals since 1998 inspired her debut novel, Back to the Village.

“What an amazing book. When reading Back to the Village you get transported to Greece and become part of the family. Beautiful descriptions of the places, makes you feel like you are on the beach or in the car. Loved every bit of my Greek Vacation. Now I want to go there for real!”
