Meandros Press is pleased to announce the forthcoming publication of Back to the Village, its first novel.

Set in the fictional village of Spilia in Crete, Back to the Village is a novel rooted in place, culture and tradition.

The novel marks the beginning of Meandros Press’s publishing programme: an independent imprint established to publish immersive storytelling rooted in place, rich cultures and unforgettable characters.

A Story from Crete

At the heart of Back to the Village is a return to a place where the past is never quite as far away as it seems.

Set in the fictitious village of Spilia, in Crete, the novel explores the people, histories and relationships that shape a community, and the ways in which returning to a familiar place can reveal something entirely unexpected.

Crete is more than a setting for this novel. Its landscape, traditions and sense of community form part of the story itself. Crete is a main character.

The First Publication from Meandros Press

As the inaugural novel from Meandros Press, Back to the Village represents the beginning of a publishing list that will grow slowly, but with intention. The imprint is not about chasing trends or algorithms. Meandros Press is about sharing a passion for storytelling.

The imprint was created with a particular interest in stories that have a strong sense of place and character. Our intention is to create books that invite readers into another world rather than simply pass through it.

Back to the Village is the first of those stories to make that journey.
